PartyPlatform Interactive Playbook

The definitive operating manual, virality simulator, and architectural verification engine for hosting unforgettable celebrations, dynamic ticketing, and automated cash gifts.

What changed in how the app looks and behaves

For you, the host

  • Dashboard: one clear Plan a Celebration button on phones, and a dashed Plan another celebration slot after your events.
  • Event page: every tool has one purple main button; red is only for Cancel and amber only for Postpone.
  • Guest list: the action row wraps, so Add a Guest and the other buttons are never cut off on an iPad.
  • Menu on iPad: below 1200px the navigation lives in the menu button instead of running off the screen.
  • Touch: buttons and pills are at least 44px tall on phones and iPads.
  • Party Meter: under the stepper on the guest list, a small 3D room fills as guests commit — purple tokens are checked in, green confirmed, amber still deciding. It reads “Venue N% full” once you set a venue capacity in the Guest Planner, and “N% of invited guests confirmed” until then.
  • Door check-in: tap Check-In at Door on a guest and the button presses down like a stamp, green sparkles burst, and the card shows Checked In with the time. The Party Meter updates straight away.

For your guests

  • One prompt at a time: the cookie notice first, then the welcome tour, then install and notification prompts, and none while a menu is open.
  • Cookie choice: Accept all or Reject non-essential, with equal weight.
  • Event page: labelled Public event; “capacity is limited” only appears when you have set a venue capacity.
  • If an email can't be sent: a guest who claims a spot still gets their on-screen pass; the email failure is logged for our team.
  • Invitations: your design is untouched; its small print (date, time, venue) is never under 12px.

Inner-Circle & Close Family RSVP Protocol
Pillars 1–4 Enforced

Close family members and lifelong friends almost never click "RSVP" because they rightly assume the host already knows they will attend. However, catering selections, smart table seating algorithms, and door check-in QR codes require explicit attendee records. PartyPlatform resolves this friction through four unified mechanisms:

Pillar 1: Pre-Confirm VIPs Builder Toggle

During guest list finalisation in the Guest Builder, guests marked as Always Invite or tagged in Close Family / VIP categories are automatically enrolled as Attending (provenance: VIP Pre-Confirmed by Host), ensuring immediate catering and seating inclusion without overriding explicit declines.

Pillar 2: 1-Tap Host Proxy RSVP & Reset Lifecycle

In Guest Management (inviteesMgt), hosts can 1-tap proxy confirm pending guests or use Pre-Confirm All for inner-circle family. Crucially, hosts and guests can also Remove RSVP without removing the guest from the guest list—resetting attendance to Awaiting RSVP, removing registration table records, and updating catering metrics while safely distinguishing from Remove Guest to prevent accidental deletion.

Pillar 3: Operational WhatsApp Dispatch Framing

The WhatsApp Dispatch Hub reframes the conversation for inner-circle contacts from an awkward "Are you coming?" to an operational, affectionate "Obviously I know you're coming, but lock in your food & table seat".

Pillar 4: 'Unlock Your Perks' Nudge & Preview

Nudges and landing invitation preview screens reframe the confirmation journey around claiming guest perks (meal choice, table seat, DJ song request), converting passive assumptions into active micro-engagements.

The 4 Non-Negotiable Gate Invariants
1. Anti-IDOR Host Isolation Guard

Event ownership and accepted co-host permissions are rigorously enforced before granting administrative access to attendee registries, ticket inventories, or payout settlements.

2. Atomic Double-Checkin Prevention & Concurrency Shield

High-concurrency entry gate controls prevent duplicate badge or QR admissions. If duplicate scans occur simultaneously, all subsequent scans are instantly flagged as already redeemed.

3. CSRF & Rate-Limit Shield

Every POST endpoint uses strict session CSRF tokens (`_token`) and automated rate-limiting to block brute-force ticketing bots and automated scraping.

4. Caldicott & COPPA Guest Privacy

Guest phone numbers and emails are masked in public views. Dietary restrictions are accessible only to authorized catering and host roles.
